Vegetable Oil Production

Industrialization has led to the development of new plants and machinery to process oil, from pressing to refining to obtain the finished product.

Olive Oil. Vegetable oils derive from different olive plants. The olive-oil processing has always been a traditional asset for Italy. The applications created for its production are various and focus on quality and quantity. Industrial fans and electric motors are involved in the various phases of the production process. Usually, state-of-the-art treatments are preferred to obtain an excellent taste, as crude dressing. Large scale olive oil industrial production processes are applied for canned food industry.

Palm Oil. Palm oil has an interesting share on the vegetable oils global market. For this production process steam is required to sterilize raw materials, while a refining process is required to clean it and remove smells. It has a large employ in food industry, in soap preparation and for the production of biodiesel. It can also be produced directly from the seeds after they are dried, grinded and pressed.

Seeds Oil. Many kind of seeds may be used in different processes. The most common oils for nutrition, industrial processes and biofuel production are palm oil, soybean oil, colza oil, sunflower and peanut oil.
